Crispy Aloo Cheela Recipe - Grated Potato cheela


Potato cheela can be prepared instantly with minimum ingredients. All you need to do is just grate the potatoes, mix spices, spread this batter over the tawa, cover and allow it to roast. Scrumptious Potato cheela is ready!

Ingredients for Crispy Aloo Cheela Recipe

  • Potato - 3 medium shape (250 grams)
  • Green coriander - 2 tbsp (finely chopped)
  • Oil - 2 tbsp
  • Salt - 1/4 tsp
  • Brown mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • Chaat masala - 1/2 tsp

How to make Grated Potato cheela

Peel, wash the potatoes thoroughly and soak them in water. Preheat nonstick pan over a flame. Take one potato and grate it. Take half potato and grate it as well. Add salt and half the amount of green coriander in the grated potatoes.
When pan is sufficiently hot, spread 1 tsp oil over it. Now place the spices mixed potato over it and spread evenly in 4 to 5 inch round cheela with 1/2 cm thickness. Pour 1 tsp oil all around the cheela and pour 1 tsp oil over the cheela. Now cover the cheela and cook for 2 to 3 minutes on medium flame.



Cheela has turned slightly brown from the bottom, sprinkle 1/2 tsp chaat masala over the upper side of cheela. Flip the side and roast the cheela from other side as well until it gets little brown in color.
When potato cheela is aptly roasted from both the sides, take it on a plate and likewise prepare rest of the cheela.
Potato cheela is ready. Serve potato cheela with tomato sauce or sweet chutney to kids and relish eating this yourself too.
